Our Awareness and Prevention Team works to provide an environment where others can learn to identify, understand, and advocate for the issue of Human Trafficking and Slavery. With a focus on commercial sexual exploitation, we are committed to raise up a community of informed activists who are empowered to support efforts directed at prevention, identification, and intervention.
Our Awareness and Prevention team seeks to:
Educate the public on the scope of human trafficking, more specifically sex trafficking, worldwide and in the local Pittsburgh region.
Inspire action by participants to evaluate their own behavior, share this information with others, and become involved in the fight to stop these crimes and care for the survivors.
Stay informed and advocate for current legislative efforts that ensure the development, enactment, and enforcement of laws that support the fight against human trafficking in our country and state.
Our awareness and prevention work focuses on:
- Speaking engagements
- Informational and educational displays
- Specific group training
- Legislative advocacy
- Social media communication
